IsoFresh Eliminates Odor Per Clinical Study of 30 Women Over 30 Days. Ideally, the vagina has an acidic (low) pH to protect the friendly bacteria that fight off infections, including sexually transmitted diseases. Maintaining low pH also keeps unwanted smells and irritation away. A recent clinical study evaluated the link between vaginal pH and feminine odor. IsoFresh Gel lowered the vaginal pH of study participants after just one application and over 30 days of using the product according to package directions. Over 95% of women using IsoFresh every 3 days for a month reported a decrease in vaginal odor concerns and a “more fresh and clean” feeling. A significant decrease in concern about feminine odor was seen among the study participants after just one application of IsoFresh. The women in the study also liked that IsoFresh is easy to use and 90% said it isn’t messy and won’t leak out. (Rizk B and Torres E. Biocompatibility and efficacy of an isotonic buffered gel for vaginal pH. Fertility and Sterility, September 2018, vol 110 (no 45), e285.)
Paraben-Free Vaginal Freshening. Parabens are antimicrobial substances that are often used as preservatives in the manufacturing of personal care products. An estimated 90% of grocery store items contain parabens such as propylparaben, methylparaben, and ethylparaben. While parabens help to extend the shelf life of the cosmetics, lotions, and other personal care items, they belong to a class of chemicals known as endocrine disrupters. Parabens are able to mimic hormones like estrogen which allows them to bind to estrogen receptors on cells and in turn prevent real estrogen from attaching. The Environmental Working Group rates ethylparaben and methylparaben as moderate hazards with a ranking of 3-4 and propylparaben as a high hazard with a ranking of 9 on the hazard scale. Unlike other freshening gels which contain parabens, IsoFresh Gel provides “Do No Harm” freshening with a light, clean, water-based, isotonic formula that is free of parabens, oils, glycerin, hormones, and artificial fragrance.
Terms to Know When Choosing Feminine Care Products. pH – measured on a scale from 0-14 with 0 being most acidic and 14 being most basic. While some pH fluctuation is natural and necessary as the vagina comes into contact with fluids such as blood and semen, too low a pH in the vagina (<3.5) can actually turn off lactobacillus production (good bacteria) required to keep the vagina in a balanced state, or over time even lead to a chronic infection (vaginosis).. The WHO has stated that vaginal products approaching pH 3 should not be used in the vagina. Isotonic – also referred to as the ion or salt concentration. Isotonic is the measure of whether two solutions have the same concentration of salt. Vaginal balancing gels that are hypo– or hypertonic (with too low or too high of a salt concentration relative to vaginal tissues) will cause water to be pushed into, or sucked out of, the vaginal cells. This forced movement of water changes vaginal cell shape and biology, leading to irritation, tissue damage, cell death, mucus dehydration, and increased risk of bacterial infections or STDs. Isotonic products (like IsoFresh) are perfectly matched to the salt concentration in the body, and as a result, cause no net movement of water. Toxic Chemicals Used for Viscosity – used for thickness and moisture. Glycerol (glycerin) and propylene glycol, for example, are commonly used humectants that can keep gels moist and improve the consistency. These small, penetrating chemicals can cross the vaginal barrier and be extremely toxic to vaginal cells and friendly vaginal bacteria.
Stays Put.
IsoFresh gel’s bioadhesive properties make sure it stays put. according to 90% of users, IsoFresh isn’t messy and won’t leak out. this makes it easy to use IsoFresh anytime you want to feel more fresh – after exercise, travel, intercourse, or your period.
