Nursing Blend is a dietary supplement that contains a blend of herbs including fenugreek and fennel seed used for centuries by nursing mothers when a boost in breast milk supply is needed. This comprehensive formula also offers essential vitamins and minerals, to ensure proper nutrition, along with the herbal ingredients to support healthy lactation. It provides 100% Daily Value of most vitamins and minerals, and extra amounts of vitamins known to be especially important for lactating women, including Vitamin D and the B vitamins.
The Importance of Vitamin D
Current research shows that most women are deficient in Vitamin D, which our skin makes when exposed to sunlight, probably because we are so careful with covering up, avoiding sun or using sunscreen. That means that nursing mothers are deficient, as are their babies. Once believed to be important only for bone and dental health, a rapidly growing body of scientific research now indicates that Vitamin D plays a vital role in preventing health issues. Although the current Daily Value for vitamin D is set at only 400 IU, many experts are concerned that this amount grossly underestimates our need for Vitamin D and are recommending that all people, and especially lactating women, increase their daily intake of this key nutrient. Nursing Blend helps to increase circulating levels of Vitamin D in nursing women, thereby ensuring that the breast milk produced by these women will have enough Vitamin D to prevent suboptimal Vitamin D status in their growing babies.

Can I take Nursing Blend and Nursing Postnatal together?
No, we do not recommend that you take both. Nursing Blend contains the entire Nursing Postnatal formula plus herbal ingredients to support breast milk production.
Do I need to continue taking a prenatal vitamin if I’m taking Nursing Blend?
Nursing Blend contains a comprehensive postnatal vitamin – so we wouldn’t recommend you take an additional prenatal.
Can you begin Nursing Blend later in your breastfeeding journey?
Yes, you can begin taking the supplement at any time if you are still breastfeeding to help support healthy lactation..
How big are the capsules?
The capsules are about the size of a generic multivitamin. However, you can easily open the capsule and add it to food or drink if you have a hard time swallowing pills.
Since Nursing Blend has extra Vitamin D in it, do I still need to give my baby a Vitamin D supplement?
We would recommend that you talk to your doctor about vitamin supplementation for your baby.
Can this product be taken together with Fenugreek supplement?
Our Nursing Blend product contains a combination of whole Fenugreek seed powder and a concentrated Fenugreek seed extract that provides a dose of Fenugreek that is equivalent to 2 grams of Fenugreek seed powder. Our Fenugreek supplement also provides a dose of Fenugreek that is equivalent to 2 grams of Fenugreek seed powder. Therefore, taking these products together will provide an equivalent dose of approximately 4 grams of Fenugreek. While Fenugreek is safe and well-tolerated in large amounts, we recommend starting with Nursing Blend, and only adding additional Fenugreek if absolutely necessary.
Can Omega-3 be combined with Nursing Blend?
Yes, you can take Nursing Blend with a fish oil supplement. We recommend PeaPod Omega-3.
Can Nursing Time Tea be taken along with Nursing Blend?
Yes, it’s perfectly safe to combine Nursing Time Tea and Nursing Blend.

First I purchased the nursing blend because the postnatal vitamin was out of Stock. I did not need the fenugreek to increase my supply as my supply was already a high amount but I feel as if the nursing blend containing fenugreek decreased my supply slightly but I did not mind considering my supply was a lot. Once I ran out of the nursing blend the postnatal came back in stock so I purchased it. Right after taking it 2-3 hours later my supply increased fast because I became engorged.
I prefer the postnatal rather than the nursing blend because
-nursing blend serving size is 3
-nursing blend has an unpleasant taste
-nursing blend caused a slight decrease in supply
-postnatal does not have a bad taste
– postnatal increased supply
-postnatal serving size is 2
I give 4 stars for the nursing blend because it contains a lot of vitamins that makes me feel good about what is passing through my milk to my baby

Good postnatal, easy to swallow, no super strong taste. I feel like I can notice a reduction in production if I miss a dose.
I have taken this supplement for prob 4 months now, and saw randomly on the FAQs that it is recommended to spread out the dosage (3 pills) over the course of the day, instead of all at once. I had been taking them all at once. These recommendations should really be on the original packaging!

I’m sorry for the confusion in terms of the recommendation of when to take the capsules. To clarify, there is no difference in terms of efficacy relating to how you take the capsules – the effect should be the same whether you take them all at once or in divided doses throughout the day. We do often recommend the divided dose for all supplements, however, in order to avoid any potential stomach discomfort. That does not tend to be an issue with Nursing Blend.

I bought this product because I had stopped taking my other vitamins and my supply dropped drastically (always take your vitamins, I can hear my Drs voice in my head…). I bought this product because it had extra vitamins and minerals as well as Fenugreek. Although I have seen a rise in my production it is still not at the levels it was before. After some research, I discovered Fenugreek can actually hurt production in some women. So once this bottle is done I am going to try their blend that does not have Fenugreek and see if that works better. I would def give this product a try but just be aware of the side effects of Fenugreek.

I have had great results with this vitamin in comparison to others I have tried. I can even tell a significant reduction in my breastmilk if I run out of this postnatal vitamin. The last time I ran out of this vitamin I had to wait a week before getting more, and my milk production was less during that week. It’s a must have for me! This product, even though in pill form does have a nasty taste as soon as you put it in your mouth and smells due to the fenugreek, (im guessing) does what it says it does! Ive been having an issue with my baby girl not gaining enough weight im unsure of why but i do know that since ive been taking this product my baby girl is back on track gaining and growing well! Maybe its the richer milk or increased supply or a combo but i definitely found what works for me and its this product!! I will continue to buy this until im no longer nursing 😊

I’m taking my 5th one and so far I’m satisfied with it! I like that I can consume this one time a day, and its price is reasonable. I’m not really sure about the effect because there are many factors, but my baby is growing well and healthy.
Why I give 4 stars is that I recently ordered the discounted one which is expiring in Nov.2018, and the capsules are smelly. I can even smell it after taking it. (burp smells like this and it’s not so pleasant.) I wish there is nothing wrong with the product, because I ordered more than one bottle.

I think very highly of fairhavenhealth products, but this supplement didn’t work for me. I’ve been using this product for 2 weeks and I haven’t noticed an increase in my milk supply, my sweat smells like Currie (from the Fenugreek) and my stomach hurts every time I take a pill 🙁

I’m glad to be getting the extra vitamins. The milk supply increase may be minimal – hardly noticeable BUT I’ve had to pump more now that I can’t take babe to work with me quite as often. Pumping certainly reduces milk supply in comparison to actual nursing. (It’s pretty normal for vitamins, but these are kinda stinky, too).
One thing I’m thankful for is that I don’t always get to eat breakfast right away, but if I don’t take vitamins right away, I forget. I’ve never had any nausea whether taking these with OR without food.
