IsoFresh Balancing Gel For Odor, Yeast, and Bacteria Control
Balance Bacteria, Control Yeast, and Stay Fresh With IsoFresh Balancing Gel!
IsoFresh Balancing Vaginal Gel is the first isotonic and paraben-free balancing gel available – a pure, simple, and safe natural feminine wash alternative, designed to boost your vagina’s self-cleaning capabilities that naturally minimize odor and maintain optimal pH balance. IsoFresh uses AN ADVANCED pH BUFFERING SYSTEM of lactic acid, sodium lactate, and sodium hydroxide to help bring the vagina into a healthy, acidic range to support optimal vaginal health – free of odor and irritation, and promoting healthy bacterial balance.
Lactic acid is the key to unlocking your vaginal health. You might be familiar with lactic acid as it relates to physical activity – it is the by-product of intense exercise that creates an acidic environment in muscles and causes unfortunate soreness. Your vagina, on the other hand, needs an acidic pH (~4) in order to kill or discourage other bacteria, yeast, and viruses from thriving. Healthy bacteria have room to flourish when the bad bacteria, yeast, and viruses are kept in check. In turn, these healthy bacteria naturally produce lactic acid, which helps keep the pH of the vagina in a healthy range. Simply put, lactic acid is essential to your vaginal health.
Once your normally acidic pH gets knocked out of balance, you may experience unwanted odors and irritation, and it can even set the stage for the development of bacterial vaginosis and yeast (candida albicans) infections. Using a lactic acid containing gel, like IsoFresh Balancing Gel, can help tip the scales back in favor of vaginal health, bring the vagina back to the acidic environment it needs in order to control yeast overgrowth and bad bacteria.
A recent clinical study** involving IsoFresh evaluated the link between vaginal pH and odor concerns. Women who used IsoFresh were found to have significantly lower vaginal pH, after just one dose and also after a month of using IsoFresh per the recommended use of the product. Over 95% of women in the study reported a decrease in vaginal odor concerns and a “more fresh and clean” feeling.

Tell Me More About the Clinical Study that was Done in OBGYN offices.
Data from a clinical trial in ObGyn practice settings found that over 95% of women using IsoFresh Balancing Vaginal Gel from Fairhaven Health every 3 days for a month reported a decrease in vaginal odor concerns and a “more fresh and clean” feeling. A significant decrease in concern about feminine odor was seen among the study participants after just one application of IsoFresh, and the women also reported that they like that IsoFresh is an easy to use, clear, and clean vaginal gel.**
Study participants filled out a questionnaire at enrollment that asked them to describe what, if any, concerns they have about feminine odor. Participants reported an increase in concern about embarrassing vaginal odors following their menstrual period, after sexual intimacy, and when changing clothes. The women also reported that concern about odor causes them to change social plans and/or avoid wearing certain types of clothing. The study included an ethnically diverse group of women, some of who are of reproductive age and some of who have reached menopause.
Why Choose a Feminine Wash Alternative?
Although doctors advise against douching, many women still feel the urge to get that “clean” feeling. Washing out your vaginal mucus “armor”, however, results in 5-8 times higher HIV and STD infection rates. Without mucus protection, vaginal cells have been found to be more rapidly infected by the HIV virus.*** The National Institutes of Health warns women against douching because of increased risk of cancer, infection, and infertility in women who do. IsoFresh is a pure, simple, and safe natural feminine wash alternative with ingredients to support self-cleaning. Don’t. Wash. Your. Vagina. Help your vagina wash itself!
Can I Use IsoFresh While I am Trying to Conceive?
IsoFresh Balancing Gel can be helpful to women who are trying to conceive. The increased exposure to semen during the fertile period can tax the vagina’s self-cleaning and balancing mechanisms. If your vaginal ecosystem is healthy, chances are it can regain pH balance back to a low acidic pH (~4 pH) on its own. But anything that disrupts our hormone system (PCOS, medications, stress, toxins, smoking, and weight changes) can make it harder for the vaginal ecosystem to bounce back. Constant exposure to a neutral pH (~7 pH) can eventually overwhelm the acidic environment and lead to unwanted feminine odors and vaginal infections. IsoFresh gives the vagina extra help to attain a healthy pH level between fertile periods so you can move forward on your journey to conception and a healthy pregnancy. And, remember, as you approach ovulation, the pH of your vagina naturally increases due to the production of fertile quality cervical fluid, which has a pH of close to 7. During your fertile window, stop using IsoFresh and use BabyDance, our sperm friendly lubricant.
What to Expect When Using IsoFresh?
A healthy vagina “self-cleans” by exfoliating old cells and bad bacteria. If you are starting with a high pH (which is what causes the bad odor), it means you have too much bad bacteria. You might see an odorless, white discharge (looks a bit like wet toilet paper) up to 24 hours after application. This discharge is made up of exfoliated cells of the bad unhealthy bacteria and is expected and normal. The quantity of discharge you see following each application of IsoFresh will decrease with regular use of the product. In a study of patients of OB/GYN clinics, women who used IsoFresh were found to have significantly lower vaginal pH, both after one dose and after a month of consistent use.**
Isn’t My Vagina Supposed to Clean Itself?
Yes, your vagina is designed to self-clean, but it can only do so when it is healthy and functioning properly. IsoFresh works with the vagina to support self-cleaning and eliminate the root causes of unwanted odor.
A Message from Dr. Peter Rizk, MD, MA, FRCOG, FRCS, HCLD, FACOG, FACS – Professor and the Head of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the University of South Alabama.
“Most of my patients mention that they experience unwanted feminine odor from time to time, which they find to be embarrassing and uncomfortable. And, unfortunately, many resort to douching to address this issue. I am excited to be able to recommend IsoFresh Balancing Gel for feminine freshening. Unlike other products on the market, IsoFresh is isotonic with cells so it doesn’t cause irritation, and it contains no oils or parabens. I feel comfortable recommending IsoFresh to my patients with odor concerns, as it is the most gentle freshening product available.”

I’m not able to puncture the safety seal on the tube with the lid. How do I remove the safety seal?
To open the tube of IsoFresh, simply remove the silver safety seal with your hands, using the small flap.
Can I can continue to have intercourse while using IsoFresh?
Yes, most definitely. You may continue to have intercourse while using IsoFresh. In fact, using IsoFresh can help your vagina cleanse itself and maintain a healthy pH after being exposed to semen (which has a pH of 7, while your vagina should stay at around 4). Please note, however, that IsoFresh is not intended for use during your fertile window – if you are trying to get pregnant. As you approach ovulation, you will begin to secrete fertile-quality cervical fluid. Fertile quality cervical fluid has higher pH than other vaginal secretions, as it is meant to match the pH of semen. Sperm will die if the pH in the vagina is too low, so that fertile quality cervical fluid needs to have a high pH to protect the sperm when you are actively trying to conceive
Will this help with smells associated with bacterial vaginosis? I seem to have near constant BV and am desperate for a solution.
IsoFresh is intended to help maintain a healthy vaginal pH (4-4.5), and support a healthy vaginal ecosystem (that is a favorable balance of good bacteria to bad bacteria), both of which help support the vagina’s self-cleaning mechanisms. In doing so, IsoFresh helps to eliminate those unwanted feminine odors that are sometimes caused by bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections.
** If you have recurring vaginal discharge, persistent odor, itching, or discomfort, please be sure to contact your doctor.
How does IsoFresh differ from a regular douche?
IsoFresh is a vaginal freshening gel – not a douche! Douching involves completely washing your vagina with a liquid, many of which contain harsh chemicals (like paraben preservatives). Douching disrupts the vaginal ecosystem – washing out the good bacteria as well as the bad bacteria, and can increase the rates of vaginal infections, like bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. IsoFresh is a gel that is inserted the vagina. It has the same pH as a healthy vagina and supports the vagina’s self-cleaning mechanisms. It is paraben-free and is isotonic, which means that the salt concentration of the gel is the same as healthy vaginal tissue. Unlike many douches and freshening gels that are hypertonic, IsoFresh will not dehydrate vaginal cells. Instead, IsoFresh keeps vaginal cells properly hydrated.
How often can I use Isofresh?
We recommend using IsoFresh once every 3 days OR on occasion as needed for feminine freshening. If you have more frequent concerns about feminine odor, we recommend using IsoFresh Probiotic along with IsoFresh Balancing Vaginal Gel to help to promote a healthy vaginal ecosystem.
Should I expect discharge or leakage after insertion?
IsoFresh has bioadhesive properties, and one of the things women like most about IsoFresh is that it stays put after application and doesn’t leak out. Many women do report an increase in odorless, white discharge (looks a bit like wet tissue paper) following the first few applications of IsoFresh- this discharge is made up of exfoliated cells. This discharge is a healthy, normal part of vaginal self-cleaning, and will diminish over time with repeated use of IsoFresh.
How may applications does one tube of IsoFresh provide?
IsoFresh contains approximately 12 applications per tube. The recommended dosage for each application is 2gm, but feel free to vary the amount between 1 gram and 2 grams based on your individual needs.
Can IsoFresh be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
We recommend you consult your physician prior to use when pregnant or breastfeeding.
Can IsoFresh be used to treat BV or an infection?
IsoFresh is not intended to cure or treat an existing infection. The product is works to help balance your vaginal pH levels, which can help to eliminate unwanted vaginal odors, including those associated with BV. Because IsoFresh has the same pH level as a healthy vagina and supports the vagina’s self cleaning mechanisms, many women who use IsoFresh report a decrease in the occurrence of vaginal infections – like BV or yeast infections. For additional support in maintaining a healthy vaginal ecosystem, we also recommend IsoFresh Probiotic.
Clinical Study Results: IsoFresh Decreases pH Improves Quality of Life
Results from this clinical trial reveal that IsoFresh:
- Lowers vaginal pH, after just one use and after 30 days of use
- Decreases frequency of unwanted vaginal odor
- Decreases women’s concerns about unwanted vaginal odor
Balancing the vaginal ecosystem and maintaining vaginal pH in a healthy range are essential to preventing unwanted odors. By decreasing vaginal pH, IsoFresh supports vaginal self-cleaning and vaginal freshness, which may explain why IsoFresh works for preventing unwanted feminine odors.
Along with lowering pH, this study showed that IsoFresh improves quality of life. As part of this study, participants filled out a questionnaire at enrollment that asked them to describe what, if any, concerns they have about feminine odor. Participants reported an increase in concern about embarrassing vaginal odors following their menstrual period, after sexual intimacy, and when changing clothes. The women also reported that concern about odor causes them to change social plans and/or avoid wearing certain types of clothing. After 30 days of using IsoFresh, women reported a decrease in concerns about unwanted vaginal odor, which means they weren’t altering their plans or lifestyle because of vaginal odor.
IsoFresh Lowers Vaginal pH
The clinical study was designed to evaluate the links between vaginal pH and feminine odor. A healthy vagina has an acidic (low) pH to protect the healthy bacteria that fight off infections, including sexually transmitted diseases. Maintaining the low pH is critical for vaginal health. IsoFresh gel lowered vaginal pH of study participants after initial use and over 30 days of use. Women with elevated vaginal pH (above 5.0) saw the greatest decrease in pH levels.
Feminine Odor Concerns Are Reduced
Women in the study self-identified events that they felt tended to trigger malodor for them. Those types of events included things like menstruation, ovulation, menopause, exercise, intimacy, and incontinence. Not coincidentally, events such as these all result in the vagina being exposed to higher pH fluids such as semen, blood, and sweat. The vagina must continually work to keep the pH in the acidic range to prevent infection. As can be seen in the vaginal pH chart, study participants’ vaginal pHs were lowered and, in this chart, you can see that so too were their concerns about feminine odor.
Reports of Bad Odor Drop with IsoFresh Use
Study participants’ concerns about bad odor dropped for a reason – the women in the study reported fewer actual instances of actual bad odor. Study participants were asked to track and report if they had experienced 3 or more days of bad odor in the previous week. This chart shows that on Day 0, 40% of study participants reported bad odor in the previous week. By Day 30, that number had decreased to 3%
A Remedy for Odor Should Not Harm Good Bacteria
Many feminine hygiene products take a “scorched earth” approach and kill off not only the bad bacteria that is a root cause of the odor but also the good bacteria which is responsible for helping the vagina fight off infections including STDs. Part of the study was conducted in a laboratory setting to determine whether IsoFresh had any negative effect on good bacteria. Lactobacillus Crispatus bacteria strains were suspended and incubated both with and without exposure to IsoFresh gel. Results show that IsoFresh gel did not impact the viability of beneficial bacterial.
Bad Odor Changes Women’s Behavior
Women in the study were asked questions about how unwanted odor affected their lives. Not surprisingly, the behavior changes came out loud and clear and affected things ranging from what we wear to what we do.
Bad Odor Has Deeper Consequences
Women in the study also reported that bad odor decreased their feelings of confidence. Unwanted feminine odor was listed by women as something that not only makes them feel unclean but also deeper emotions such as feeling unattractive and frustrated by a lack of ability to solve the issue.
