Confirm ovulation with the OvaCue vaginal sensor
By measuring the electrolyte levels of your cervical mucus, the vaginal sensor will provide the OvaCue fertility monitor with the information it needs to track trends in your hormone levels, thereby allowing the monitor to identify the estrogen surge that occurs just prior to ovulation and the subsequent shift from estrogen dominance to progesterone dominance that occurs at the time of ovulation. The OvaCue will display a pink box on the day that this hormonal shift is detected, indicating that ovulation occurred on that day.
While the OvaCue does not need data from the vaginal sensor to predict your fertile window, the vaginal sensor is required to confirm the date that ovulation occurred. By confirming ovulation* with the vaginal sensor, you will know with certainty when your fertile window begins and ends.
As an OvaCue customer, you also have unlimited, free access to OvaGraph.com a feature-rich fertility charting application which allows you to store, chart, and print your OvaCue cycle data.
*The OvaCue "confirms ovulation" by detecting trends in the vaginal readings that indicate the switch from estrogen to progesterone dominance has occurred, which is a reliable indicator that ovulation has occurred. Please note that the only method for confirming that ovulation occurred successfully with 100% accuracy is vaginal ultrasound.
- For use with the OvaCue Fertility Monitor
- Confirms the date that ovulation occurred
- Provides valuable insight about your menstrual cycle by helping to identify potential hormone imbalances/deficiencies
- Especially helpful for women with irregular cycles
- Easy to use – takes only a few seconds each day
- FDA cleared

Answer:
Great question! We recommend that you begin using the vaginal sensor once menstruation has ended (or by cycle day 8 at the very latest!). The sooner the better!By holly from East Fishkill, NY on December 22, 2011

Answer:
When using the OvaCue, you should take your oral readings first thing in the morning before eating or drinking. The vaginal sensor is to be used once a day (we generally recommend in the evening) before intercourse or at least 8 hours after intercourse. You should be up and active for at least 2 hours before taking the vaginal reading. Therefore, you can decide the time of day that works best with your specific schedule. Remember, you'll want to try and take the vaginal readings around the same time each day.|

An essential insturment in learning about your body

I purchased my Ovacue bundle (Including the vaginal wand) to learn about my cycles, as I have PCOS. The vaginal sensor is like finding the missing piece of the puzzle. When consistently used, all data falls into place. I strongly recommend buying this wand, as it actually confirms ovulation. It also has been helpful in giving me an idea about my hormone levels that wouldn't be possible to find out everyday otherwise. It's quick, painless, and easy to use. The only difficult part is finding my cervix, but that's a user issue, not the product's fault.
Pros:quick, accurate, easy to clean, portableCons:Sometimes difficult to place |

I would recomment buying this with the Ovacue - it is very helpful, especially in the first few months when you are trying to understand the data. It will help you figure out if you've ovulated.
Pros:gives extra information which is helpful in understanding your cycleCons:placement can be tricky to understand it is sold seperately |

I believe the Ovacue worked for me on my first try! We have been TTC for 2 years. Unfotunately, I miscarried. I also found the vaginal senor a bit difficult to use---unsure of placement, etc. But overall, a great buy!
Cons:Hard to figure out placement. |

I feel the vaginal sensor is a MUST when using the Ovacue. The sensor allows for the most accurate information and also confirms ovulation. This sensor has relieved all stress for me while TTC. I am notorious for crazy BBT and my cycles are irregular coming off depo, but with the sensor I feel confident that I know exactly where I am in my cycle and it confirms ovulation even when my BBT does not.
Pros:Confirms Ovulation Quick and easy to use Gives you the best data AccurateCons:Expensive Should be INCLUDED with Ovacue not sold separately. |

I think this sensor is essential to use along with the OvaCue monitor. It is very simple to use and so good to have ovulation confirmed. The $100 pice tag may seem high, but I think it is worth every penny!!
Pros:So simple to use.Cons:Price, should be sold at a discount when also purchasing the Ovacue monitor at the same time. |

We have had 2 previous m/c and then couldn't get pregnant for 9 months. We are now expecting after using the OvaCue with the Vaginal Sensor for only one month! I highly suggest buying the optional vaginal sensor. Thank you!

I still think this should be bundled with the Ovacue because it really is a necessity. This little sensor makes all the difference in guaging and confirming ovulation. If you're getting an Ovacue, this is an important add-on. You wont be able to confirm ovulation with accuracy otherwise.
Pros:Confirms ovulation ! |

While it is a bit inconvenient and expensive to have to purchase this piece of equipment separately, it is worth EVERY PENNY. We are doing IUI inseminations, so timing is EVERYTHING to us. My OvaCue monitor predicted ovulation on cycle day 15, we inseminated that morning, and got ovulation confirmation that night. The peace of mind KNOWING we got the timing perfect is priceless. It is quick, easy, and not the least bit uncomfortable. I highly recommend this product.
Pros:Quick Easy Comfortable Priceless |
