I bought MyMilkies when my daughter was 13 weeks old. I was excited to see how much I would "catch" during my feeds. I'm sad to say that after 3 feeds, I had about one QUARTER of an ounce! It's not even worth washing it between feeds for such an incredibly tiny amount of milk. This is my 3rd child and I have a plentiful milk supply. I think my body has adjusted to how much she's eating and that's why I don't drip much. I think the company needs to state this somewhere as a possibility when using with "older" babies since they will not accept returns on the product. I also think that since they recommend on the package that you give to a friend when done, then the product should be able to be returned and sterilized and the customer should be given a full refund. And lastly, I developed a clogged duct within 12 hours of using the product. I believe this was due to the pressure of the silicone container pressing against my breast (and i had my bra unhooked) because I can't contribute it to any other cause. I went the normal amount of time between feeds. I am a former L&D nurse and breastfed my 2 other children over 1 year so I definitely have plenty of experience with breastfeeding.
Pros:Would probably be good in the first weeks of breastfeeding. Would recommend to a friend if baby is that age. Also would recommend a "drip test" before buying (drip into a container held at nipple to see how much you're actually dripping. Wish I would've done this. Hindsight is 20/20. I was excited about the thought of saving more milk for my child.
Cons:Unable to return product.
Box states the average mother leaks 1-4 ounces each time baby feeds. Very misleading for someone who doesn't know anything about breastfeeding. I found this hard to believe and knew I wouldn't get that much but I got a miniscule amount.
Pressure on my breast most likely caused a plugged duct in my breast.
